Default Fortress build times

This topic is long overdue. We need a serious discussion on this.

The build times in Fortress are becoming way too long. I play rather casually and am already at 10 days per building. After 3 months it's gonna be 2 weeks per building. And that's just me. I dread to imagine how BMWGuinness is doing.

I see three options here:

First, and the worst one, is change te value of mushroom on higher Fortress levels. So that by levels 17-20 one mushroom would allow us to skip 20 minutes of build time. This value would have to constantly change with higher levels.

Another option is giving additional buildings in the Fortress that could further decrease build times. I made a topic in Suggestions on this, that gave a very specific example how this could be done.

The third option (and best in my opinion) is to give us possibility to, in way "earn build time".

Here's a simple example:
During mission, beside item reward there could be a worker reward. Each worker we would freed / helped to would decrease our current building's time (left to finish) by lets say 10 minutes.

This example is very primitive. This in no way could be implemented in such a way. But giving us an option to earn time in some way seems to me to be the best solution.

Actually we could buy second builder for 500 shrooms or whatever. That would be cool too. And helps a lot.

I agree build times are to long anything over a couple days is to long for something as almost completely useless to building our toons as the fortress system. ( gems only thing that helps and HoK indirectly). Any thing can shorten time is good but also need a free way even if it doesn't complete upgrades in 1 shot at least take an hour or2 off per day would be nice.

Or a Once-a-month,one time use skip of build time. That would help tremendously.

As long as you upgrade laborers it doesn't get ridiculous. With a maxed out laborers' quarters even a level 19 building is only around 14 days.

As long as I'm reimbursed in mushrooms for any changes retroactively, this should be fine. I'd hate to have wasted all of those mushrooms to get everything maxed out only find that this kind of change would be made. Even with level 15 Laborers Quarters its 15 days to get from level 19 to level 20 (and there are 7 level 20 buildings). That's the equivalent of 2160 mushrooms or $85. Imagine doing that 7 times per level ...

an equal problem of the ridiculously long build times is the way that related features freeze during the build.

Short of wood, so you decide to upgrade your woodcutter's hut from level 12 to level 13? Can't afford to spend 1008 mushrooms to do it instantly? Well, then, no wood for you for 7 days, while stone piles up.

Defense a bit weak? Think a couple more archers would help? Well, you can have them in 7 days. You just better hope you don't get attacked in the mean time, because if you do you won't be able to train any replacements until the upgrade is complete.

The fortress has given WAY to much advantage to those willing to spend hundreds of dollars on mushrooms.

Well, I had no idea about it, but now it turns out that you can upgrade Laborer's Quarters to level 15 ONLY.

This is just... sad.
