Well, clearly it has only been removed for the Oktoberfest situation (for reasons which should be obvious) and will be back on the 3/4th October.

Normal service shall resume then

For those of us with money and lives outside this game, this is a terrible idea. Personally, I would quest to a ridiculous amount right now and therefore spend a lot of money on the game just to be able to get an advantage from endless beer. However, I ALWAYS skip to the end of the mission. I have a 9-5 job and also a life outside of this game. I can't sit in front of my computer for 10 hours a day to take advantage of Oktoberfest. Therefore, the extra money that this game could be making will go to waste. I guess I will be saving money during this Oktoberfest period rather than spending it at a record rate.

I guess they *do* want to maintain *some* balance within the game, yes?

And so, your unlimited funds notwithstanding, it's not worth unbalancing the game to such an extent by creating an enourmous rift between regular players and your would-be level 1,000+ character...

No use breaking the game that way, and in the long term, only to take full advantage of the boundless... generosity of a handful of players like you. I suppose they figured on exercising *some* - a modicum of - restraint with their enthusiastic greed. [insert smiley if you will...]

Also, I'm sure they counted on *most* people having a life and interests outside this game...

I have to say that I personally agree with the idea of making the drinks free but let folks skip them and keep the limitation. That way, more folks can enjoy more thirst and then finish it with a shroom sale. Folks will have enjoyed the drinks and hopefully will buy some.

Bullbound said what I was going to say.

I don't really care, to be honest.

I agree with Bullbound and Rinsa.

Anyway I'm just happy, that S&F is having such events and trying to diversify the game.

Heh, yeah - people seem to like free drinks... don't know why that is... so puzzling...

(If you gave them actual, real-world free drinks, I'm sure they'd be... um... more generous, more likely to buy your mushrooms. Or anything else. )

Otherwise, they'd take the free quests and go about their game as usual.
And during the sale the mushroomers that needed to restock would do so - again, as usual, and as expected.

But the event would create some good will among players, that much is fairly certain.

And I think Playa might be in need for some of that, what with all the server issues, bugs, forgetting to communicate with players - or even their own extended personnel, the global community managers!...

Yeah, I think they could benefit from trying to generate some good will...

(Well, unless Playa bosses despise their players, their customers, and consider them nothing more than mindless milk cattle - cash cows...
Now, you wouldn't by any chance think like that, Playa bosses, would you?!...
And you wouldn't want us to think you did think that way, now would you?... )

I get the feeling that something will change today though. Maybe the "happy Hour" thing or even the period of the event.
