Looks like people have already lost interest. Filling the cauldron the first time on US server 1 proceeded at about 6% per day. For the second round, we are moving at only about 1.5% per day (9% in 6 days). That would suggest that participation has dropped off by 75%.

That is assuming that each item is credited for the same amount that it was during the first round. I would not put it past Playa to drop the value of of donations each round by 75% so that filling the cauldron the first time takes 2 weeks, the second takes 2 months, the third takes 8 months, and the 4th takes 3 years, etc. If that is the case we should be getting our last scroll at about the time the sun burns out.

I gave you a thank you just for the sun thing.

However, this for once is something you don't have to worry about.
The required number of items used to grow from scroll to scroll,
but that was changed so every scroll needs roughly the same number,
depending only on server activity and not on how many have already been activated.

Your observation that progress on s1 has slowed down is probably connected to the finetuning that was introduced with .525.
Before, the most inactive servers seemed to be the fastest to fill the cauldron.
For instance, German s1, which is probably the most active of all, crept along at a snails pace,
while more or less empty sponsored servers (ingame, buffed, ...) virtually jumped to 100%.

After the patch, the more active servers have notably sped up, while the less active seem to have slowed down a bit.
But as you said, frustration over the scroll's effects might affect the willingness to donate as well.

didn't realize there had been a patch. any chance it fixed the gold vs. silver payment issue such that the gold scroll would pay more than its cost?

edited to add: the last 2 items I donated today were awarded .005 and .006, whereas the first week my donations were between .006 and .012. So it would seem that at most half the decline is due to any changes that might have taken place in the donation formula. The rest must therefore be due to decreased donation activity.

It also raises the question of how server activity is factored in to credit. Is it instantaneous activity (how many are training at that moment) or is it integrated over a longer period, such as the activity from the last hour. Or is it just random?

I noticed a new scroll available in the store offering something like 11250 gold 11 silver. Can we assume that the latest patch fixed the gold payment problem?

what other changes were made? Did they up the experience?

Donated a robe and was credited .028, rather than the .005-.006 I used to be getting. Assuming no one else donated at the exact same time as me. So it seems they have again adjusted the formula for which items are credited.

Wow, that is a really long time. Especially since S10 is an active server.
