Strangely enough, after we got scroll #3 today on server 1 the level of my 3-item epics increased only to 436 (bought 3 at that level). That corresponds to an increase in the multiplier from 4.5X to 5x, not the expected 6x.

Could you please submit the exact stats of the item you found?
I'm confused, the aura is not supposed to be affected by the witch until the 3. scroll is activated.

This is what I posted the day before the 3rd scroll was activated:

My brother, who is level 309, aura 24, bought a new ring yesterday before the 3rd scroll that was level 415.

415 - 309 = 106

106/24 = 4.42

After the 3rd scroll he found boots on a quest level 427:

427 - 309 = 318

118/24 = 4.92

Yes you get an increase of stat points I don't recall how many points atm it might be 3 points per aura lvl on a 3 stat epic but not sure it is somewhere in the forums.

You still haven't revealed the exact stat points of the items in question, I can only guess what you mean by "level of 3-item epics".
D'you mean +428 on each, Main Attribute, Endurance and Luck? If so, strange enough.

Before the witch, the aura was simply added to the player level when generating items.
Now, another factor is multiplied to the aura.

The formula for the maximum attributes are:

(level + aura × witch) × 2 ← for normal items, in case of two attributes they would sum up to this
(level + aura × witch) × 1 ← for epics with all five attributes
(level + aura × witch) × 1,2 ← for epics increasing main attribute, Endurance and Luck
(level + aura × witch) × 5 ← epics with Luck only

The attribute bonus on the weapons of mages and archers are doubled for lack of a tenth item.

The damage dealt by weapons is generated like this:

(level + aura × witch) × 2 ← for warriors
(level + aura × witch) × 2,5 ← for archers
(level + aura × witch) × 4,5 ← for mages

The × witch - factor should be × 1 with 1 and 2 scrolls activated, meaning there's no effect,
but with 3 scrolls, it jumps to × 2.

Initially they planned to raise it to × 3 and even × 4 upon activating the 6th and 9th scroll,
but that was deemed too much by the commumity, so it was changed as is explained here:

A 3-item epic is an epic with main, endurance, and luck, as opposed to an all-attribute epic, with points to all.

My understanding is that prior to the scrolls the maximum value of a 3-item epic seemed to be 1 x your level plus 3 x your aura. For example, level 200, aura 15, maximum points to main, endurance, and luck would be 200 + (3 x 15) = 245. Thus I consider 3 points per attribute to be equivalent to what you refer to as 1x

At level 311 with aura 26 I was finding 3-item epics up to around 390. Then at or around the time of the last patch this jumped to 428 at a time when US server 1 still had only 2 scrolls active. When I did the calculation, this came out to exactly 4.5 points per aura level, or what you would refer to as 1.5x.

We now have 3 scrolls active, so I cannot tell you whether this is still true. If there is another server that still has 2 scrolls active, perhaps someone might know.

Ok, I got you more or less right, then. However:

These formulas were determined empirically and have been producing the correct results from the start
(at least since I started playing around September 2010, the × witch equaled 1 back then, of course),
and I daresay they are closer to the original than multiplying the aura with weird numbers.

According to these, you could have found 3-stat epics with up to
(311 + 26 × (witch = 1)) × 1,2 = 404,4
Your 390 seem a little unlucky to me. ^^ The actual value of the bonuses vary, sometimes a little on the plus side, more often greatly on the minus side.
With activating the 3rd scroll, that value should rise to
(311 + 26 × (witch = 2)) × 1,2 = 435,6
which corresponds exactly to the three items with 436 you bought. ← There's another verification.

Your 428 with only two scrolls though is utterly odd. Are you sure you won it in a dungeon or quest or bought it in a store?
Because the only way I can explain that value is that you might have won it in the tower. (?)
The tower epics are generated not to your own level, but to that of the enemy you were facing.
Could it be that your enemy at the time was on level 428 / 1,2 = 356,6 → 355 or 360?

I want to point attention that items from the "magic toilet" are not affected by witch aura bonus.

You'll be delighted to hear this bug will be fixed with .530, then, along with a few other issues.
As almost always, the patch is beeing tested on s1.sfgame.de and will be deployed to the remaining servers later.
If anyone can read German, here it is. Can't be bothered to translate anything just now, perhaps someone else might.
