NEW Content
After server restart, yes, there is some new content:

a) - in preparation of defence against incoming raid from hostile guild a new guild feature and mushroom dump: The Giant Mushroom Catapult can be loaded with up to 3 Giant Mushrooms, each costing 5 :shroom:
This is supposed to inflict additional damage on the attacking guild's members (ML-tags added for emphasis)...

"Each Giant Musrroom hits one fighter at random and does great damage to it.
(Yes, a couple of errors in there - Mushrroom, as well as referring to the fighter as it, instead of them, arguably or not - but more importantly, a Giant Shroom costing 5 :shroom: might take out a lowly level 10 attacker, for all we know - um... pyrrhic victory, anyone?... Costly, anyway, if that's how it turns out: that would be one expensive cannon fodder... Catapult fodder? :) And there's literal fodder there, as well as figurative... Well, either or whichever way...)

b) - in the Magic Shop, XXL potions no longer provide bonus points, but a bonus percentage, same as the Potion of Eternal Life, i.e., 25% (again, that's for XXL potions - supposedly all the smaller sizes provide an appropriately decreasing % of stats buffing).
So no more variables there, in terms of bonus points - all XXL are rated 25%, the variable being the player's affected stat.
Even more significantly though, the XXL potions no longer last only 24 hours, but rather, their effect lasts 3 days.
Problem is, when two or more same-size (i.e., XXL) potions boosting the same stat (ex. 'Constitution') show up in the shop's inventory, they are now exactly the same: same bonus, same duration (well, that much was always the case, except of course, now it's 3 days instead of 24 hours), same exact price. (Bit of a... redundancy?... That might be addressed in a later patch, I guess - probably should.)

(There might be more new content - that is all I'd noticed so far, at first glance.
If so inclined, please post updates as new things are observed.)

The new pots are the best change ever!

Small ones give 10%, medium ones give 15%.
They give the percentage based upon base stat + gear.
Having 6k dex will now give you a 1.5k dex pot rather than 500-600.

Of course this also means that defensive stats will almost always give less. Luck will depend highly on your epic count and how much you invested in it.

Duration should stack. Hopefully someone will try.

Vizari 10-27-2011 01:25 PM

Guild mate tried, it stacks.

You mean two potions of the same kind applied, lasting twice as long, or 6 days, same for 3 lasting 9 days.

Haven't given it a thought, haven't tried, but I hope you're right.

In which case getting 2 or 3 in the same shop inventory display would no longer qualify as a redundancy to be addressed... good point.
[edit] Vizari, thanks - got in before I finished.

Actually, the first thing that occurred to me, but also haven't tried - anyone?...

are we still limited to 3 potions at any given time?...

(I don't want to try it right now, as my toon is fully loaded with PoEL and two XXLs, the guild is being raided, and I rather not risk cancelling the effect of one of the potions for the sake of this experiment. If anyone tries, go for the smallest, cheapest ones if you can, obviously.)

The new pots change a lot.
1: They are cheaper (per day)
2: You can stack them
2.1: This means a lot more inventory space for potential gear changes
3: Luck and defensive pots are even less usefull now.
3.1: Again, this means more inventory space, few will keep any pots spare as they won't use anything else than main/con, and those they will stack rather than save up.
4: Pots are A LOT more powerful. Main stat being nearly 3x as powerful for me, and con being twice as powerful.
4.1: This also means that the difference between being potted and not being potted has gotten insanely bigger.
4.2: This means you can start seeing hardly active guilds go down in power quite a bit.
5: With the pots being percentage based, the difference in levels will be bigger. Better gear due to level and the obvious higher base stat will make the pots relatively stronger than the previous type of pots.

Are PoEL still around, or did they get rid of them as part of the potion upgrade?

Darstard 10-27-2011 02:13 PM

They're still there. I've seen 3 POELs while hunting for other potions.

ToscanToss 10-27-2011 02:14 PM

All pretty cool - Vizari, do the pots stack only as stats increase, duration, or both?

I'm sure it's the first, but haven't tried, so... Well, I'm asking.

Also: still only 3 at a time, right?...

[edit] Yeah, same here, PoEL are everywhere, and they seem unchanged.
I assume the gold-only PoEL remains available, although I haven't come across it just yet, (since this update went live) - but that can take as much luck (real, not in-game :)) as finding an epic, so...

Darstard 10-27-2011 02:19 PM

I haven't tried going > 3 yet, Toscan.
I have observed that potions seem too appear much less frequently in the shops now.
