Giving Shrooms to other players
 
In our guild we used to make contests. It went the following way:


Each week on Friday's at 10 pm we would give questions about the game. The first person to answer would win shrooms.

However giving other player shrooms ain't easy. If you want to buy them with a credit card it's simply impossible.


So here's the suggestion:

Allow shrooms from the guild to be transfered to a selected guild member.

Isn't gonna happen. It would allow a player with deep pockets to bribe members to join the guild, or players to pool their money, buy in bulk, and then distribute. For example, 10 guys could each transfer $10 to a single player, who buys 3000 mushrooms on sale, donates them to the guild, and then distributes 100 to each player, rather than the 54 they would have had if they bought on their own.

Or two players who both play on the same teams on two different servers. One buys mushrooms on server 1 and transfers half to his teammate. the other does the same on server 2.

Tremendous opportunity for abuse.

While abuse could happen, it isn't all that likely as the people would be using real-world money. Plus, if initiated, Playa would reduce abuse possibilities. It's unlikely that Playa would ever allow players to take mushrooms from the guild bank. They'd be donated from personal accounts only.

Furthermore, you can give players mushrooms now, not easily, but through gifting of Ultimate Game Cards.

So? That's how it works in the real world and Playa would make more money which would improve the game which would improve the lives of everyone without deep pockets.

If you use an ultimate game card, you are donating money, not mushrooms. meaning you cannot buy in bulk and then divvy them up between multiple players, which is what playa presumably wants to avoid.

How would this improve the game? because if we game playa more money they would spend it on upgrades to s and f, rather than on developing a new game or a vacation to tahiti? :lol:

Strictly business wise, yeah, Playa would roll a large amount of the money back into the game that made it. If you're getting most of your revenue from one source you've gotta keep it alive (and work on diversifying your revenue streams long term).

Allow only mushrooms earned questing to be distributed, then you eliminate distributing the purchased mushrooms.

Sounds familiar in a backwards way, doesn't it?
