5x Gold days and Equipment Rewards

Since 5x days are becoming a regular feature, I thought I'd bring this up.

The gold and XP rewards on normal days seems to follow the formula:

Final gold = Original Gold - Equipment Penalty

Sometimes, teh equipment would be worth more than the penalty, and sometimes less. That meant sometimes you might take the equipment, even if you intended to sell it.

Right now, it appears to me that the formula for the gold reward on quests that have an equipment reward is:

Final gold = (Original Gold Reward - Equipment penalty) x 5

On 5x days, you never take the equipment to sell it. The Equipment penalty is, basically, 5x the volume of what it was for the unmodified quest.

Could they please change the formula to:

Recommended Final gold = (Original Gold Reward x 5) - Equipment penalty

This will re-balance the monetary rewards in these quests, so taht they aren't blocking up your choices.

I see this as getting even more gold from a 5x GOLD EVENT...

YOU Still have 3 choices.
YOU can see what stats are on the item.
Its not every time there is an item in there.

Just choose based on the 3 quests you get.

Maybe you should see it like this:

IF you get an item in one of the quests, you will have to PAY 5x normal gold to get it as well.

I am happy they did not increase the prices of the weapon shop and magic shop.

Both valid points, and worth mentioning, useful info for players who haven't noticed.

(And makes me grimace at one of my 'foibles...' I notice things, but often don't give mentioning it a second thought, unless someone else brings up the subject, always naturally assuming that if I have, so has everyone else. Which, obviously, might be true at times, but not always.)

I won't be seconding either position - or rather, I'd second both of them, since neither is 'incorrect.'

Whether they leave it as is, or change it as Charista suggested, I consider it Playa's decision, such as it is.
(I don't view it as a bug, though - more as a conscious decision relating to gameplay mechanics, balancing: a trade-off.
I think the Giant Mushroom Catapult is a balancing poison pill as regards - and squarely against - small guilds, but that's another feature, another issue, another thread...)

i like the way it is now dont see any reason to change it besides if they were to make that adjustment whould just mean more bugs if anything id like to see a weekend bonus with exp bonus % or every quest rewards an item

I think someone just added a 5 in front of the total pay-off without thinking it though, but that's just me being pessimmistic ;)

Damn! I wished for that ever since the first 5x gold event! (Still hoping for it, now that you mention it - stopped playing for a little while for various reasons, but I couldn't, wouldn't pass that up easily!)

Thanks for mentioning it on open forum! I'd like if it were turned into a very serious suggestion, and I'd strongly support it / second it / would be in favour of it.

Well... I'm not going to argue with you on that point... It's a good point... better than good. :)
