Why is the first quest always the worst quest?

It's pure coincidence. I sometimes get good quests for the first quest of the day, for example 10 minutes, 6 million XP. Everything's random.

How about this one? Everybody knows there are similar quests but this is the first time two quests give exactly the same XP.

Same duration, same XP. But an old bone is more precious than being followed by something...whatever IT is.

Ive had it happen only twice when same duration quests had same xp and same coin.
