I think it's all about more players, which is good. The more populated the servers the better.

The game itself, all servers and accounts will stay the same. It is just a new platform to find new players...to increase the game's community and popularity.

You can still play the game in your browser without STEAM.

an FYI you have to be a steam member and have spent at least 5 dollars on steam. I found this out by making an account so I could vote. Since I didn't spend the money nor will I, I cant vote.
