Default Who hit first in arena?

I have searched the forum and I didn't find a good answer so I created this thread to ask "Who hit first in arena?"

Don't tell me its random, first hit is really important in PVP fights.

I think it's the assailant(attacker) but don't quote me on that.

yep it is random and can be frustrating. specifically in reference to dungeons.

Dungeons have a pattern that is.. expensive to take advantage off.
I noticed this when shrooming as fast as I could through a very low chance of success dungeon.
Who goes first seems to be based around the cooldown counter. If you use mushrooms consistently on either all odd or all even numbers, the first attack is the same each time. They seem to change randomly every 30 seconds or so.
To give an example I use a mushroom on an odd number and attack second so I change to an even number and attack first. I keep starting on even numbers till i stop attacking first then I start the process again. You can keep doing this till you beat it or your wallet starts to cry. Due to lag, human error etc finding the pattern can be difficult but overall I go first just over 75% of the time.

The cooldown timer in the arena works differently than in the dungeon so I cannot test my theory in the arena. (Besides I would need a volunteer test subject who doesnt mind a full mail box )

PVP fights need a logical calculations rather than odd or even numbers!
My opinion

I disagree. random is the only fair way to do it.

all i know is when i get into one of those "whoever gets the first hit wins" situations with a dungeon boss i end up using anywhere from 5-10 shrooms before i magically get the first hit and win.
