Charista, there is an error in your math unless something is missing. Every member of each guild is getting the same % increase. If Zombunny is 8% higher in bonuses, then every player is getting 8% higher bonuses. It isn't some measure of total players splitting the bonus. The guild as a whole is getting 8% more. However, as you stated, the returns are diminishing as the levels go up. It will indeed take some time to see when REAL can catch Zombunny and pass them, but it will happen unless something tragic and unforeseen happens to REAL.

Bb, you have to include the baseline.
I am receiving 100% + 100% + 42% = 242% exp/gold. Someone in REAL is reciving 100% + 100% + 34% = 234% exp/gold. Someone without a guild receives 100% exp/gold. When I compare against someone in REAL with a different bonus, I have to compare my total gain vs. their total gain, not my bonus vs. their bonus. Let's approach this from another angle. Imagine that someone without a guild sees the following quest reward: 100xp + 100gold Before dunegons, when we were all in 100/100 guilds, I would get a bonus of 100% on both, as would the person in REal andour reward would be: 200xp+200gold But now, the guy in REAL gets an additional 34% for: 234xp + 234gold and I get: 242xp + 242 gold My actual bonus vs. the player in REAL is: 100%x(242234)/234 = 800%/234 = 3.6% See? The 8% is compared to the guy without a guild, not the guy wiht a different bonus. Last edited by Charista; 11242010 at 12:46 AM.

Sorry, but I'm not seeing how you are reaching the 3.6%.
If the player in Real is earning 234% and the player in Zombunny is earning 242%, then that is an 8% difference. Why divide that by 234? Also, 100%=1.00 and when you do the math as you listed, it is: 1.00*(242234)/234 = 1.00*8/234 = 8/234 = 0.034 = 3.4% If you want to compare both to a person without a guild and then see what the difference is, then you only need to compare the bonuses. A player in REAL earns 2.34 gold/xp per 1 gold/xp that a guildless player earns and a player in Zombunny earns 2.42 gold/xp per 1 gold/xp that a guildless player earns.

Whoops, 3.4% is right, not 3.6%.
You claim I said: "1.00*(242234)/234" No, I wrote, "100% x (242234)/234)" The formula for % change is: % change = (newold)/old * 100% I only moved the 100% to the front because it looked messy at the end. The thing you're missing is that "bonus" is measured against someone not in a guild that has 0% bonus. Quote:
% difference = (Zombunny REAL)/REAL x 100% When someone has 8% more than someone else, the equation is simple: Y = 1.08 x X So, if X = REAL's bonus.... Y = 1.08 x 234 = 252.7 We're not getting 8% more relative to REAL, we're getting 8% more relative to the guildless player. Let's say your car payments were $425/month. If you refinance for $445/month (shortening the loan), how much did you car payments increase as a percentage?

The reason I equated 100% to 1.00 is because that is the decimal equivalent. When converting a decimal to a percentage, you are not multiplying by 100%, but by 100. You are effectively moving the decimal point to the right by two places. That is where the confusion seems to stem from. You were using % to indicate the change to a percentile from a quantitative number, and I was thinking you were trying to multiply the quantitative number by a percentile.
