Default Rejected suggestions list

Howdy all,

While racking my tiny little brain for suggestions for new spiffy S & F features (as per developer request), I happened upon a post in the German forums listing all the suggestions that have already been turned down. I didn't see a similar list here on the English forums (if it exists, apologies; see also: tiny little brain), and I found it kind of interesting, so, um, I translated it. Here, have some words!

The suggestions listed in this thread have already been rejected by KO771 or the developers. Please don’t post any of these or similar suggestions again.

General:
Give mushroom dealer/stable guy new graphics at night
Choose character skin color
Sidekick for each class
Reset the server after x days
In-game advertising for gold/mushrooms
Buy mushrooms with gold
Change mushrooms into gold
New/different events
Show player activities outside the guild
Change quest opponent strength / difficulty levels
Allow players to change classes
Give S&F its own mouse cursor
New races/classes
Additional sets of quests outside the tavern or the dungeons
Put thousands commas, etc. into numbers (to make it easier to read large numbers) – can’t be done from a technical standpoint
(Optional) query before using mushrooms
Change mushroom donation functions/restrictions (rejected in all forms)
Show in-game friend list with online/offline indicators
Server variations (free, high-speed, etc)
Publish a ban list with reasons
Randomly appearing different characters that offer gold, mushrooms or quests
Increase chance of finding mushrooms
Expand the game world with a map available for purchase in a shop (rejected for the time being)
+1 to all attributes when leveling up
Mini-games
In-game music
Premium accounts
Separate server without mushrooms
In-game chat (e.g., server-wide chat with different windows, channels, emote features, etc.)
“Back“ button
Let people create links they can send out to others and every time the link gets clicked, they get a mushroom
Show clock in-game
Auction house / market / trade items / transfer items
Professions/trades
Sets of class-specific cards you can collect and then exchange for items
Increase the number of inventory slots
Offer the game as a download
Login bonus (a little higher every day)
Rewards for leveling up in the form of gold, mushrooms, or items


Tavern:
Bad guy who shows up every so often with special quests
Reward/consolation prize for failed quests
Increase gambling chances from 1/3 to 1/2
Shorten quest times
Find potions in quests
Increase free-play time (e.g., total thirst without beer)
Change “happy hour” (doesn’t apply to US servers)
Stop showing any quests once 300/320 thirst has been used up


Arena:
Make it possible to steal other players‘ mushrooms
Make it possible to set your gold aside for safekeeping
Make the battle system more interactive
Change the crit system to one that guarantees a critical hit after x rounds
Exclude guild members from showing up in the arena
Tournament/ladder/gladiator events/etc.



City guard:
Have doing city guard restore thirst for adventure
Longer working time/”vacation mode” for city guard
Work for gold and/or experience
Receive part of the gold if you end city guard early
Expand city guard
Events during city guard time that potentially increase how much gold you earn


Weapon/Magic shops:
Only offer items that are exactly right for your class
Put items on layaway/reserve them so they’ll still be available the next day
Blacksmithing/crafting/changing current items
Have luck items be luck-only (no other attributes)
Change shop items whenever you level up
Item sets including bonuses



Stable:
Change leasing system / allow mount purchase
Shorten travel time even more with mounts
Discounts on longer leases



Mushrooms:
Have the button change color instead of blinking during sales
Make it possible to distribute mushrooms you buy to characters on different servers
Mushroom starter sets (set discount for first mushrooms purchased)


Character:
Longer character descriptions
More item slots
Display “armor value up to a maximum of Level xxx”
Make it easier to increase attributes depending on base values
Change fonts using Bulletin Board Code options
Don’t credit friend bonuses until the friend has reached X level
Sell back stat points for 50% of the gold spent
Change armor on character picture depending on what armor character is wearing
Make it cheaper to increase luck
New award medals
Talents/skills
Scrapbook – Shift bonuses from XP to gold (slider?)
Scrapbook – Highlight shop/opponent items not yet collected
Scrapbook – add toilet epics
Make it possible to get the gold frame without mushrooms

Post:
More lines for messages
Allow players to send mushrooms, gold, and items by post
3 message flags: inbox, arena messages, sent/outbox
Change message color when read
Show whether recipient has already read a message
Make it possible to delete several messages at once (clicking boxes next to them)
Show number of characters remaining/used
Send messages to groups / to officers


Guilds:
Guild chest where you can put items you don’t need anymore
Guild taxes
Make guild expansion cheaper/start fortress at higher level when founding guild
Make it possible to ban members for 24 hours
Bonus to all guild members’ total damage per guild victory or per xxx guild honor points
Support guild members with gold or mushrooms from the guild
Let people donate mushrooms once starter mushrooms have reached 0
More guild ranks (assistant guild leader, guild diplomat, etc.)
Show how many mushrooms left for max. expansion
Guild-fusion functions
Make it possible to mark/highlight guild chat text
Make chat expandable/longer
Extra chat for special player groups (officers, guild leaders, etc.)
Longer guild descriptions (more characters)
Allow more than 50 members
Choose player order in advance for guild wars
Guild application form
Have chat save more than 40 lines
Let officers edit the guild description
Upload your own guild crest
Let guild leader distribute mushrooms from the guild chest to members
When a player has defeated 10 opponents in a guild war, that player is out due to exhaustion
Confirmation window (y/n) when calling guild attacks
Guild chat command to reset your own (only your own) donation counters
2nd function for “officer” button: downgrade yourself to “member”
Display showing your guild’s best rank
When other guilds attack yours, show which of their members started the attack
Make guild member list sortable
Have pictures of guild features change depending on what level they’re at
Hire mercenaries for battles/raids
Show character class symbol when mousing over in guild list
Make links clickable in chat
Display characters inactive for x days in a different color in guild list
Replay option for guild battles/raids


Hall of Fame:
Make it sortable by character level and class
Additional HoFs – for example, by number of quests and/or arena battles won
Full-text search
Display HoF rank changes
Show online/offline


Dungeons/tower:
Offense dungeon (e.g., one that attacks you instead of you attacking it)
Show opponent including stats on selection screen
Changes to reward system


Forum:
Section just for introducing your character
Create your own individual title (not just “Truffle Shuffler” etc)

Yep, Ragorth, that's the one. Maybe I'll just put it in the original post... always good to cite your sources and all...

And yeah, I'm sure they've rejected plenty of other suggestions since then but I figured it was a start - I've seen several of these posted here, wanted to suggest a couple of others myself. I dunno, I'm a bit too lazy to go back through and search for others, but if anyone knows any more, I guess we could start compiling a list here or something...?

UPDATE: I asked about this in the German forums and was told (four minutes later! such efficiency!) that when game staff edit posts, you can't always tell from the "last edited" date... so I can rest easy in the knowledge that they've been updating their list, even if it still says May 2013 at the bottom.

It's unclear at the moment, but I'm under the impression that for the moment, everything is on the table as they sift through the laundry list of ideas.

I expect you know better than I would, Koopa I have just noticed that the suggestions forums for the two countries are often kind of like:

USA:
Player1: "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we had XYZ"
Everyone else: "Totally, that would be super"
Player1: "Totally"

Germany:
Player1: "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we had XYZ"
Everyone else: "Ugh, seriously, that idea's already been rejected twice, learn to use the search function and read the rejected-suggestions list before you post"
Player1: "...oh"

...and I wasn't sure if it was because the US forums didn't have that list of rejected suggestions, or if it was mainly a question of, I dunno, tone...

They've implemented things that were originally rejected, or like with potion stacking, addressed a suggestion that was rejected in a different manner (that was done to deal with inventory).

We don't have a rejection list partly because of this, and partly because Playa doesn't communicate what's rejected outright.

Aha... now that is interesting! And should probably be broadcast louder on the German forums, so that maybe people there will stop spending quite as much time snarking at each other about learning to use the search engine...

Er, in that case, you can take down the original post if you think it's counterproductive - I thought that list was more official/final than apparently it is.

We do ( mainly me ) will say when something has been mentioned in the past a few times for ppl to use the search function and yes thing have also been yeah that would be cool but it has been shot down before unless you can come up with a different way to do it then no use continuing on with the topic. (Even some of my ideas where shot down that way)
